"Remember, that if thou marry for beauty, thou bindest thyself all thy life for that which perchance will neither last nor please thee one year; and when thou hast it, it will be to thee of no price at all; for the desire dieth when it is attained, and the affection perisheth when it is satisfied."
Sir Walter Raleigh (1552 - 1618)
And for those who don't want to think about it and comment...
---The spelling used in those days was rather erratic and thus "Raleigh" is just one of the (over 40) ways in which his surname was written. He used numerous of these spellings, with "Rawleigh", "Ralegh" and "Rawley" being more often used than the currently accepted version. His name was pronounced "raw lie" and it is said he is never known to have used the modern "Raleigh" spelling. ---courtesy my very own Google Search Bar.

The Beatles - " I'm so tired"
Heh Heh Heh
hahaha...good one...
but why did you leave out the previous line?
"I'm so tired, I'm feeling so upset
Although I'm so tired, I'll have another cigarette
And curse Sir Walter Raleigh
He was such a stupid get..."
I think they actually didn't mean to make it a song to the love, they were probably tired of being together (as a band)??...what do you think ?
Abhi Bhai, I'm so tired is a LOVELY song da. I've read somewhere that it was written by John in India, during the Maharishi days. When he was really tired, and leaving his first wife for Yoko. Something like this.
(a)I'm so tired, I havent' slept a wink .... mind is on the blink.....wonder should I get up, fix myself a drink:
I think John was really tired, literally, and he really wanted to fix himself a drink. Alcohol was prohibited in Maharishi's TM camp.
(b) I'm so tired, don't know what to do ...mind is set on you ...wonder should I call you ... :
He's singing about Yoko.
(c)You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got
for a little peace of mind
Clearly, he wasn't enjoying TM. He had three weeks of hell, and he wasnt' getting the Peace of mind he came for. And he was having sleeping trouble too :-)
(d)I'm so tired, I'm feeling so upset
Although I'm so tired I'll have another cigarette
Ok, again he was tired, and he wanted to smoke, but that wasn't allowed either.
And then those two lines about Walter Raleigh, god knows why they're there !!!!
Long live the Beatles !
Jai Gurudev !
Jai Babaji !
Yup, Great song! but I've always wondered. WTF is 'stupid get'??? Did he mean 'Stupid Git'?
Yes, even I thought it should have been "git"!!
Any chance of you sending me a few books? If yep, my mail ID is ginuvanhaltren at gmail dot com
Haha yeah, I guess everyone has that question. He was such a stupid 'get'. Must be some British slang or something, who knows. Or maybe he just put it in for the rhyme. Upset, Cigarette, Git ?? Chee... Get !
Sir Walter Raleigh? Dunno too much about him. Anyways, I've managed to get AdSense up and running on my blog too. Just thought I'd let you know :)
Abhi Abhi Abhi....
Moi asked you about uploading the books, but to no avail. Is it not unfair??
